Why are your baking mixes different than others?

Our unique line of healthy baking mixes are grain-free, gluten-free, plant-based, paleo-friendly and require only minimal add-ins from customers to create delicious homemade baked goods. Started by a Holistic Nutritionist and two female business partners in Toronto, Canada,

Stellar Eats was born to create healthy eats that taste like treats.

But it’s not only about what’s not in our mixes, it’s about what is in them. We use protein & fibre-rich almond flour as the base, coconut sugar for sweetness and starches from roots & seeds to give our baked goods the right texture.

This means we don’t believe that choosing healthy foods should mean restricting the things you love. We’d rather recount fond memories with food than calories. Mostly, we’re so over health food that tastes like cardboard.

Where can I purchase your products?

You can purchase mixes online here. Or find us at various retailers throughout Canada. See our store locator here.

Are your products vegan?

Yes, our products are naturally vegan and can be prepared vegan through recipe substitutions:

PLEASE NOTE:

our mixes that call for eggs turn out best with eggs. Using an egg replacement may slightly alter the taste or texture.

  • Pizza: Naturally vegan
  • Fudge Brownie: Naturally vegan
  • Chocolate Chip Cookie: substitute butter with softened coconut oil and replace the egg with a flax egg* or store bought egg replacer
  • Biscuit/Scone: Substitute egg with flax egg* or store bought egg replacer
  • Chocolate Cake: Substitute egg with flax egg* or store bought egg replacer
  • Pancakes: Substitute eggs with store bought egg replacer. Using a flax egg* may alter the texture to be less fluffy.

*Flax Egg: 1 tablespoon ground flax dissolved into 3 tablespoons of water. Let sit for 10 minutes before adding to mix.

Why grain-free?

The base of our baking mixes are made up of a combination of nuts, seeds, coconut and starches from root vegetables. These foods are typically high in fibre, protein, and good quality fats. We formulated baking mixes that are so delicious, it doesn't matter what type of diet you adhere to whether it be paleo, gluten-free, or vegan.

We wanted to create a product that everyone could enjoy at their convenience without having to forgo traditional treats (because a world without chocolate chip cookies is not one that anyone should have to live in).

Even if you are not gluten-intolerant, our mixes are for you! These grain-free goods will leave you feeling satisfied, nourished and ready for more Stellar Eats treats!

Are your products gluten-free?

Yes, all of our products are free of gluten. They are made in a certified gluten-free facility with 100% certified gluten free ingredients.

What kind of sweeteners do you use?

All of our prepared goods have less than 10g total sugars. We use whole, low-glycemic foods to sweeten our sweet mixes. We use sugars derived from coconut due to the minerals they contain (like magnesium, potassium, zinc and iron!) and they are lower on the Glycemic Index than other natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. We source our chocolate chips from Enjoy Life who uses a small amount of organic cane sugar in their chocolate chips – making our cookies super delicious! We try to keep our overall sugar content as low as possible (our cookies contain 8 grams of sugar per cookie, in comparison to a traditional cookie brand which has 24g per cookie.)

Can I eat a product beyond the best-by date?

All of our mixes are made with natural ingredients and don’t use any artificial preservatives, so we do not recommend you consume a product past the best-by date. Find the best-by date at the bottom of the package.

Where do I store them once baked?

Since our products contain no artificial preservatives, we suggest storing them in the fridge in an airtight container for one week. Or you can freeze them for 1 month.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship across Canada and the Continental USA! We have big plans to expand so make sure you subscribe to our email list.

What is the shelf life?

10 months.

Where do you make your products?

Our products are produced at a co-packing manufacturing company in Toronto, Ontario.

What can I use as an egg replacement?

You can substitute eggs with flax eggs or store bought egg replacers in our recipes.

For one flax egg: mix 1 tablespoon ground flax with 3 tablespoons water. Let chill for 10 minutes in the fridge until set.

*Please note: our mixes that call for eggs turn out best with eggs. Using an egg replacement may slightly change the taste or texture.
